Marinara Dipping Sauce

Our GO-TO easy, homemade marinara sauce.

Marinara Dipping Sauce

5 tomatoes, halved
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp sea salt
3 large garlic cloves, skins on
6-8 basil leaves, chopped
1 tsp italian seasoning

1 Tbsp nutritional yeast

1 Tbsp tomato paste

Pre-heat oven to 350┬░ and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl toss the tomato halves, olive oil, sugar and 1/2 the salt until well coated. Save bowl for later use, no need to wash.

Place the seasoned tomatoes and garlic cloves (skin on) onto the cookie sheet and bake for 55-60 minutes.

Once cooked, place the tomatoes and all the juices , garlic (skin removed afer baking),  basil, Italian seasoning, nutritional yeast, tomato paste and remaining 1/2 teaspoon of salt back into the mixing bowl and using an immersion blender, blend until desired consistency.

Taste test the sauce to see if you need to adjust any flavors.

Dunk your favorite italian bread, breadsticks or garlic knots and ENJOY!
